The Nigerian Boy's Dream: Episode 3

Emeka's heart missed a beat. he was engulfed with fear as he heard the message of the king's call for him. his mother began to run after the messenger who brought the message to know what crime her  little son has committed that warranted the king's summon. but her question couldn't be answered as the messenger has no such permission to unveil the king's mind  without being permitted.









With tears in her eyes she laid her hands on Emeka's head and said "may the gods be with you and save you from whatsoever  may be against you in this summon" Emeka being too young couldn't comprehend all these things but in his heart he knew all that has happened but his question has always been "why?" so he went off  to the palace cause he was asked to come alone according to the messenger. there was something strange about the way Emeka reasons. on his way to the palace, unlike his mum he was optimistic about good things to come despite his father's death, he maintain his little age manner of thinking which has always made things work for him. finally he was at the palace. the guards allowed him in after he explained his purpose of coming.













On entering the palace he bowed before the king and the king smiled at him. he king was astonished at the maturity portrayed by the little boy(emeka) irrespective of his age. "all shall be well with you my son" the king prayed. he(emeka) was asked to sit down. and the king began to ask him questions about when last he went to school. "never in my life your highness" he replied the king. "well i think its time for you to start schooling. your late father was the only palm wine tapper that always served me the best of wines in this village" Emeka was immediately elevated into a very high pitch of joy as he exclaimed "thank you your highness". the king then asked him to go home to share the joy of it with his mother.









Emeka after thanking the King ran home with the beautiful,life changing news. immediatley he got home and shared the news with his mother who has been worried about the king's summoning. immediately he told her that the king is offering him a scholarship to start school she fainted.
