#FASHION LIFESTYLE: Starting Up Your Dream Fashion Label With SylviaNwandu
This new month we came in contact with one of Nigeria's Make-up Artist/stylist in the person of Sylvia. She is our host for the topic that entails the journey on how a fashion label starts up and becomes a reality with respect to time. She shared with us her experience and growth so far and we decided to host her in here to have us all enjoy and learn a lot from her story on starting your dream Fashion label. The issue of fashion has been seen as a tough field of human discipline in terms of looking good but with Sylvia's story today, you will come to get some wisdom on how to venture into it. Read On.
BELOW IS HER BRIEF FASHION CAREER HISTORY
Sylvia Nwandu is a student of The Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra state Nigeria. She study Marketing. She is currently on a 1 year Industrial Training(IT) and also she is a Fashion stylist who covers lots of area such hair-making, Make-ups, Manicure, Pedicure, and lots more.
"It all started 4 years back(2012). Being independent and creative has been my dream cause i have always dreamt of it. So i decided to go into beauty treatment practices such as manicure, pedicure, hair-styling, make-ups, and lots more cause it trips me, gives me joy each time am on it and looking good has been part of me. my learning process lasted for 4 months.
It was not easy though as we all know that fashion deals generally with appearance. So you have to meet people of different characters. I tried my best to adapt because some of them were so annoying and discouraging but of course that's one of the challenges of meeting up with the demands of your clients." Sylvia Narrated.

Secondly, my parents never liked my quest and taste for fashion for once but because i know myself better, and what i can create in that field, i ignored them. They never took me serious until i was called for a contract in my school where i was given the opportunity to stand and speak in the presence of students, lecturers and the Deputy Rector of the institution. The meeting was for me to educate them on fashion and ways of growing it. Using that opportunity, i defeated the public Phobia i use to have before and now i can go anywhere, associate and relate to any kind of people at any point in time and it also gave me an edge of connection with people i never knew before.

CHALLENGES OF CAPITAL
Along the line as at then(when i started), capital was a problem so i had to collaborate with a little business which was stressful for me but at a long run, it went a long way to help me reach where i am today.

woow! my role models are Carrie Hammer, my mentor Mrs. Ngozi Dunu and above all my lovely Mama Jenath Nwandu.
