The Nigerian Boy’s Dream Episode 9: Saving The Day

Immediately the principal came closer, Emeka knew that if
something is not smartly cooked up the principal is going to severely embarrass
those senior students so he decided to play along by laughing with the senior
students. They were surprised at his actions but had no choice rather than to
blend with the small boy cause the principal was so close and had his
Koboko(Animal-skinned cane) with him. Finally the principal was with them.

With a raging voice he asked “what
has he done to deserve your bully acts?” they all quickly answered “Nothing sir, we were just playing with him”. The principal
taking a deep breath asked “Emeka my Boy, How are You?”  “Fine sir” He replied. After the whole drama,
both Emeka and the bully seniors went to the hostels. But the incidence incited
a lot of gossips about Emeka being the principal’s favorite. What usually baffles
them most is that this small boy was not the intelligent type and speaks less
of the English Language but yet was always favored. This made most senior
students to avoid the boy while others made him a favorite in order to gain
favor from the principal and cover their sins of breaking school rules. A boy
so tender in age and level in school became the talk of the school.

While at the dinning hall for lunch, the women in charge of
food sharing upon seeing Emeka  had a
common like for him because he was the smallest of all his mates. For this they
added more portions to him but Emeka would never eat it alone as he would share
some with his friends and for this kindness, many wanted to be friends with him.
Immediately after lunch as students were returning to their various hostels,
Emeka slumped on his way to the dormitory.
