The Nigerian Boy’s Dream Episode 8: principal’s favorite

Upon reaching the principal’s office, Emeka was fearful for
he thought he committed an offence for not vacating the school premises when
the masquerades invaded it. What’s your name? the principal asked. “Emeka” he
replied. From which community do you hail from? At this point Emeka was not
sure of what to answer as he was not that good with the English Language. When the
principal noticed this weakness in him, he decided to use the native Igbo language
to communicate with Emeka after all he(the principal) was on a quest to know
more about the little boy.

After Emeka answered him, the principal discovered that
he(Emeka) was an indigene of a community filled with great worshippers of the “Amadioha”
gods of old. At this point the principal was a bit skeptic and at the same
relieved for the fact that the presence of Emeka in his school reduced the
level of damages in comparison with the previous records of masquerades
invasion to the school. He lacked what to tell the little boy but just asked
him to be careful within the school. Emeka then left the office and headed to
his class. While he was walking into the classroom, his mates looked at him
like some kind of a hero who was returning from a war because it is rare to see
a student walking out of the principal’s office with no single tears.

Question like what did he ask you, Were you punished? Were being
thrown at him but he calmly as usual answered them all. Even though he was not
the brilliant type amongst his fellows,  but
he had this unique personality which attracts people to him at every incidence
that involves him. After classes as students were returning to their
dormitories, some senior students decided to pull some bullying stunts and
behold their victim of choice was Emeka. “hey  superhero” they mocked at him with command. He
couldn’t understand what that meant but at least he knew they wanted him to
come over to them because their expressions tells it all. As he came to them,
they asked  him to kneel down before
them. As he knelt before them, here comes the principal on an unexpected school
inspection.
