My inspiring Interview Session With Nigerian Blogging King Tatafonaija
I was opportune to know tatafonaija for over a year now even though i was not much closer to him. but this year the case was different as i began to know him much better. he is one of Nigeria's top entertainment and news Bloggers who are ranking high in the blogosphere. he has been into blogging for over 4 years now. his website Tatafonaija.com has been his medium of reaching out to Nigerians with trending News and entertainments.
We both had an interactive moment more like an interview so i decided to use that as a medium to question him about his blogging carrier and life in general and after this awesome moment, i decided that i will share with you my dear Blog readers all of it as i know that there is at least an important lesson to pick from his story.
Below is my interaction with him;
Sir Tatafonaija what is Your real name?
My real name is Kalada Belema Meshack-Hart
How did You Come to Know about Blogging?
I stumbled on Linda Ikeji's Blog some Years back and i loved what i saw.
Wow! So what became your motivation to Build Up a brand of your own?
I wanted to make money Lol! never wanted to work for anyone, wanted to do my own thing and blogging gave me that opportunity.
So Sir Why did you Choose Tatafonaija as a media name?
Well, i thought about it. i will be talking a lot which is "tatafo" in Naija slang and i will be talking a lot about Nigeria so that's where tatafonaija came from.
What Challenges did You face the Moment You Launched into Blogging?
Cost of data(internet access). internet connection was the most challenging. as a blogger you need to be online every time. back then getting a modem and paying monthly subscription was not cheap, especially when nothing was coming in. remember i was doing it for the money, not passion. Lol!
So Far How Satisfied are you With Your set Goals?
Its 4 years and counting, i have learned a lot, started out as an entertainment blog, metamorphosed to a news site, my goal is to make the families first choice for news and entertainment. my financial goals not close but am on it.
How well Have you built Relationships in the blogosphere Over the Years?
Still building o! but i have made lots of friends like you. it's an interesting workspace.
You were The mind behind "Get Relevant Campaign" for Nigerian Youths. what inspired you to create such a Forum?
Yes i did. i looked at elections in Nigeria and found out that youths play a huge role in voting, but do less in partisan politics. this thought of an idea to get Nigerian youths to join political parties from the comfort of their homes using any internet enabled device came up, thus www.getrelevant.com.ng was born.
Were You able to achieve the Goals of this campaign in the present 2015 elections?
No. we would start now to plan towards 2019.
What were the Limitations?
Finance, and it was too much for me.
Apart From Blogging, what else do you do in your Leisure times?
Leisure time? Bloggers don't have leisure times. all we do is work! work! work!
So Sir what are your current Dreams in the things you do best?
To start Tatafonaija Media
What would You suggest or rather advice upcoming(newbie) bloggers to do to be impacting in the cyber world today?
Be ready to wait a while before money starts coming in, be creative, look for a niche and be the best boss there, Fear God.
The above were my inspiring moment with Tatafonaija. one of his lifestyle that motivated me more to appreciate his personality is that he still respect the fact that God should be feared irrespective of your ambitions. you could see that his goals of finance are really high but he enjoys the discipline of patience,hard-work and making good plans for the future. he is actually an Optimist if am to give him a quality rating.
Now over to you my dear friends. you must have noticed and as well learned something from this short moment i had with Tatafonaija. so please share your own opinions in the comment box below
